Entry Level Landscape Architect - Quincy, IL

Our award-winning, multidisciplinary firm with offices in Quincy and Galesburg, Illinois; Hannibal and Columbia, Missouri; and Burlington and Pella, Iowa, is seeking a key team member in our Quincy office to serve in our Civil / Site / Recreation Department. The candidate will support our team by providing research, preliminary design drawings, construction documents, and presentation graphics. A passion for design, willingness to learn, willingness to collaborate within a team, and exceptional communication skills are essential to be effective in this role.

Position Requirements:

1. Demonstrated proficiency in the following:

  • Proficient with AutoCAD and presentation software.
  • Ability to review and analyze GIS data and field data collection.
  • Demonstrated ability to create presentation graphics utilizing electronic media (drawing, image editing, and / or 3D animation) using computer and / or hand-generated sketches.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Evaluating site conditions and being able to apply findings to the design.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse project team.
  • Translate ideas from sketches, plans, specifications and written / verbal instruction into complete and accurate construction documents.
  • Understand and apply Department standards and procedures.
  • Organize, prioritize, and independently perform work assignments.
  • Support multiple projects with deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Understanding of construction means and methods (construction detailing, assembling drawings, etc.).

2. Licensed or ability to obtain licensure within three years of employment. A four-year degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university is required.

Geotechnical Driller / Engineering Technician - Burlington, IA

Are you looking for a “hands-on” career in the construction industry with a mix of field and office duties? Do you like to be outdoors in a fast paced environment with variety at construction sites throughout Southeast Iowa and West Central Illinois? Geotechnics, a regional geotechnical engineering/construction testing firm, is seeking qualified applicants for a geotechnical driller/engineering technician. Operate and maintain CME track mounted drill rig using hollow stem augers, rotary drilling, SPT and rock coring. Two years minimum experience operating CME or similar rig preferred. OSHA 40 hr. Hazwoper training is desirable. Also includes field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt samples. Applicant must have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license (Class A or B CDL w/air brakes endorsement a plus), and be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
