Empowering Our Clients to Realize Their Vision

Creating and rehabilitating buildings is an artform that requires practical solutions.

Our architectural design staff begins every project by getting to know you. Whether you’re anticipating growth, envisioning a new facility, or preserving the historic character of your building, our team of professionals will listen to your needs, prioritize your goals, and create a personalized design that enhances your organization and your community.

Simplifying Design Through Practice

To truly craft a unique design for our clients, our architectural design teams provide imaginative, deliberate planning. This serves as the basis for our tried and tested process:

Mike Carter

Great architectural design comes from conversation.

“Dialogue is everything. Even with years of schooling and practical experience, my most successful ideas have come from initial and on-going conversations with the client.”

An Engaging Environment for Client Input

The Klingner team will provide design leadership and facilitation to create an environment for constructive conversations about your needs.

Once all ideas are on the table, our designers will develop a series of options to be used for further conversation. Throughout the project, our architectural design team will continue to work closely with project stakeholders. We will provide the initial architectural vision and together, through ongoing communication, we will refine and elevate the project.

Known for Persistent Quality

At the completion of each design stage, our plans and specifications are reviewed by a peer designer not assigned to the project to verify accuracy and compliance with Klingner standards.

We also hold weekly coordination / progress meetings to coordinate between the firm’s multiple disciplines. These meetings provide an opportunity to discuss issues and options to make the best design decisions.

We Design With 3D Modeling

Plans can be hard to visualize, which is why our architectural designers work in 3D from the beginning of each project.

Similar to arranging blocks, we start by determining the overall form and continue to add and refine details until you have an accurate visualization of the final building. Designing in this capacity allows increased collaboration and coordination between client, architectural designers, engineers, and the general contractor.

Start With a Building Assessment

Are you in a building that is not properly functioning for your needs? We can help.

Our architects will sit down with you to discuss what is working and what is not. We will then walk your facility and conduct a thorough assessment of the building envelope, the interior building components, and general compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We incorporate the use of standard and drone photography to develop a complete picture. If required, we will bring along our engineers to review the site and grounds, structural systems, and mechanical systems.

Once the visual inspection is complete, we will create a report of your existing conditions and provide detailed recommendations about how to move forward. These recommendations will be based on your expressed needs and organizational vision.
