Responsibilities:

  • Perform surveying tasks in an efficient manner as directed by Professional Land Surveyors.
  • Survey, map, and document land features, improvements, and land boundaries under the supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor.
  • Operate and maintain field and office equipment.
  • Organize, prioritize, and perform work assignments within project deadlines.
  • Produce and deliver control, boundary, topography, ALTA, Right-of-Way, hydrographic, and construction surveying services under the supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor.
  • Work in a team environment and learn from fellow technicians, staff surveyors, project surveyors, and project managers.
  • Develop topographic survey drawings, plats of survey, monument records, and other drawings under the direction and supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor.

Please Note: Although this position has standard working hours when possible, this position is more task oriented relative to time oriented and requires flexibility as to beginning and ending times on many days throughout the year. This position is full-time. Seasonal overtime pay is likely and should be anticipated during the busy construction seasons throughout the year.

Qualifications:

  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates with at least a two-year degree are a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and walk at least 5 miles daily.
  • Ability to work outside.
  • Willingness to work hard.
  • Computer and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • An aptitude for basic geometry, algebra, and / or trigonometry.
  • Candidates should be able to travel for extended durations and on short notice.
  • Knowledge of land surveying-related tasks, such as construction layout, survey equipment, etc. are a plus.
  • Knowledge of Trimble robotic total station and GPS equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD / Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Ability to have your workweek exceed 40 hours, especially during construction season.
