From Ideas to Impact: Your Design-Driven Process

As an Architect – Project Manager at Klingner, you’ll guide teams focused on navigating clients and communities towards successful project outcomes. This role is at the head of our integrated design teams, managing all aspects of project document development and providing hands-on supervision for multidisciplinary staff. In addition to maintaining quality, cost, and schedule for complex projects, you will get to work directly with clients, head up interviews, and pursue exciting new work.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize owner / client relationship and expectations.
  • Participate in new business and marketing efforts, including responses to marketing requests and maintenance of firm relationships.
  • Initiate, monitor, and maintain work plans and financial performance of each project.
  • Schedule and lead weekly internal team project meetings as well as develop the meeting agenda and project status update.
  • Estimate fees, determine scope of work, and prepare and uphold Klingner Client Services Agreements, Klingner Sub-Consultant Agreements, and requests for additional services.
  • Keep track of project scopes for contract compliance and potential additional services.
  • Manage time and personal workload as well as work efforts of others to meet project task deadlines and commitments with occasional interaction and direction from team leaders.
  • Guide and teach less experienced staff.
  • Coordinate all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
  • Serve as primary contact with clients to bring projects to completion on schedule; within budget; and with a focus on client trust, rapport, and satisfaction.
  • Understand Business Development and genuinely and consistently build and maintain ongoing professional relationships with clients.
  • Coordinate with the Business Development leader to attend client events, fundraisers, and other events within the city.
  • Participate in regular office and regional staffing meetings.
  • Assist in winning work.

Qualifications:

  • 5-15+ years of experience, with at least 3 years of experience successfully managing Architecture / multidisciplinary projects.
  • Degree from an accredited university in Architecture or Design.
  • Professional licensure process is close to completion.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape or other rendering software, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Cloud required.
  • Knowledge of building code and construction methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead project teams and manage project schedule, budget, and program.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
