The Process

What happens after you submit your pre-application? Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Initial Interest Form: Complete the form below — or on any of our open positions — to submit your Initial Interest
  2. A Virtual Interview: You’ll meet with a member of our team virtually to begin discussing the position
  3. Full Application: We’ll send you the full job application to complete
  4. In-Person Interview: You’ll meet with your department manager and other key team members at one of our Klingner locations

How can I make my resume stand out?

  • Let us know the qualifications you meet. Each job has a list of qualifications that we’re looking for. Tell us how you meet them. List relevant work experience, equipment, software, etc.
  • Tell us the results of your work. We want to know the impact you had at your previous workplaces. Did you lead teams? Deploy new tech? Complete work on schedule and under budget?

Do I need to send anything else?

We encourage all applicants to include a cover letter letting us know why they’re the perfect fit for the position. Design positions may also ask for a portfolio. Make sure you’re showcasing the best of your work.

Recent college graduates may also need to provide a transcript at the Full Application stage of the process.

Where will my interview be?

For your convenience, your first interview will be either a conference call or virtual meeting. If you advance to the next stage, we’ll let you know where your interview will be. Typically, in-person interviews are held in the position’s hiring office.

The interview process is all about making sure you’re a good fit for the position — and that we’re a good fit for you! Be prepared to tell us why you want this position, highlight your skills and goals, and explain how you see yourself fitting with the team.

When will I hear from you?

You’ll hear from a member of our team no matter what happens.

If you’re selected for interviews, you can anticipate:

  • Notification of a virtual interview within 2-4 weeks of Klingner receiving your Initial Interest Form
  • An In-Person Interview within 1-2 weeks of our Virtual Interview or, for students, during the next scheduled break
  • Offers are usually made within 1-2 weeks of the In-Person Interview

If the role you’re applying for isn’t the best fit for you at this time, Klingner will keep your resume on file for three years.
