Project Summary

Klingner provided design services for a new at-grade interactive fountain in Washington Park, a historic park in Quincy, IL. Klingner worked closely with Quincy Park District to design a fountain that would serve as a focal point for the park. The fountain replaced an existing fountain that had exceeded its design life and no longer functioned properly. Features of the new fountain included 15 interactive Choreoswitch animated spray nozzles with color changing LED fixtures, programming and animation capabilities, and colored concrete surfaces with banding to match the radial sidewalk layout of the park.

This focal point functions not only as an aesthetically pleasing water feature, but also as an interactive splash pad.

Permitting services were provided to acquire the necessary permits from the Illinois Department of Public Health to allow construction of the fountain.
