Q: Tell us a bit about yourself…
Shelby: I graduated from Morrison Institute of Technology in 2016 where I obtained my Associates in Applied Science, and am currently enrolled at East Tennessee State where I am working towards a Bachelors in Surveying and Mapping. I live in East Moline, IL, with my husband, where we farm and raise a menagerie of livestock. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, traveling and spending time with family.
Q: What do you enjoy most about the types of projects you work on?
Shelby: I love to see projects come to life, starting from the original topo and aerial to the staking and as-builts.
Q: What piece of advice would you give someone choosing the same career?
Shelby: Don’t be afraid to ask questions and listen to your mentors.
Q: What project are you most proud of that you’ve worked on thus far in your career?
Shelby: Probably being apart of the Bettplex development in Bettendorf, IA.
Q: What is your favorite hobby?
Shelby: Collecting rare house plants.
Q: What is your favorite family tradition?
Shelby: Baling hay on the 4th of July and ending the day with a cookout with family.
