Meet Kayla Hollingsworth, the newest member of our Geotechnical/CMT Team!

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself…

Kayla: I was born and raised in Good Hope, IL. I have a bachelor of science in geology, with a minor in animal science from Western Illinois University. I am married to my wonderful husband, Jake, and we welcomed our first daughter, River, in November 2021. We are currently relocating to the Burlington area from Keystone, IA. We are excited to be closer to hometown friends and family.

Q: Why did you want to join the Klingner team?

Kayla: I wanted to join Klingner because I appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and positive work ethic of Klingner employees. I also really wanted to become a lab coordinator because I get to be part of the testing process. It’s rewarding to connect contractors with our technicians to make sure every day runs as smoothly as possible. Teamwork makes the dream work!

Q: What piece of advice would you give someone choosing the same career?

Kayla: It’s great to have a lot of empathy and patience. You also can’t be afraid to speak up and professionally communicate your thoughts.

Q: What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?

Kayla: Skydiving! The summer I turned 18, I went skydiving in Florida. It was thrilling!

Q: What makes you laugh the most?

Kayla: Other people’s laughs are infectious.

Q: If you could pick up a skill instantly, what would it be?

Kayla: I would love to play an instrument really well. I have always wanted to play the drums…who wouldn’t want to play the drums?!
