Meet Hannah Brunko, a recent member of our Interior Design Team!

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself…

Hannah: I am a recent graduate of The University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. I am originally from the Cedar Rapids area, but am currently residing in the Des Moines area.

Q: Why did you want to become an interior designer?

Hannah: I have always had an interest in understanding why / how people interact and behave in a space, and interior design plays such a large part in determining that. This is the perfect profession for me because it is a healthy balance of the application of technical and creative skills.

Q: What do you enjoy most about the types of projects you work on?

Hannah: I really enjoy that every project is different when it comes to the client, the use of the space, and the design style.

Q: What piece of advice would you give someone choosing the same career?

Hannah: Be willing to learn more about the building than just the interior, because being able to merge your design with the rest of the building systems and features will result in a more effective and efficient design as a whole.

Q: What is one little known fact about you?

Hannah: I had three knee surgeries before I was 16 years old as a result of playing soccer for many years.

Q: Who is your hero?

Hannah: My hero would have to be my mother. The challenges she has been through have never altered her ability or dedication to always be present in the moment, love endlessly, or have a smile on her face.
