Meet Kurt Fanderclai, the newest member of our Architecture Team!

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself...

KurtI've been in the profession of architecture for over 25 years. I am married to my wife, Carrie, and we have two children; Tyler and Kyra. I enjoy kayaking, bicycling, building projects, and playing drums...poorly!

Q: Why did you want to become an Architect?

KurtI've always enjoyed making things - large and small. I've always always enjoyed the process of drawing and diagramming, as well as planning how something might be put together. Architecture combines all of those things.

Q: Is there a project you've worked on thus far in your career that you're proudest of?

KurtI was the project architect on an addition and remodel for a Martin Luther King, Jr Community Center. The dedication of the Center's Director was very contagious and his enthusiasm helped drive the success of the project.

Q: What piece of advice would you give someone choosing the same career?

KurtI think it's a great career and would greatly encourage those just starting out to also consider some of the less traditional alternatives to conventional practice - such as architect as developer/owner.

Q: Why did you decide to join the Klingner team?

KurtI was looking to find a new work home with a higher level of energy, appreciation, and enthusiasm for the architectural profession.

Q: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

KurtI'm an introverted extrovert.

Q: What was the last movie you saw in a movie theatre? What did you think?

Kurt: I believe it was "1917" - a World War I movie - my son is a huge history buff, which made a good movie even more fun to experience!
