Welcome: Kara Duong

Meet Kara Duong, the newest member of our Transportation team in Quincy, IL!
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself...
Kara: I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. This past May, I graduated from Missouri University of Science & Technology with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. My hobbies include drawing, shopping, and being outdoors.
Q: What do you enjoy most about the types of projects you work on?
Kara: I enjoy working with people and seeing how our ideas come together to solve a problem.
Q: Is there a project you worked on before joining Klingner that you're proudest of?
Kara: During my internship last summer, I escaped my comfort zone by installing electrical circuits in a skate retarder control box for a railroad track. Overall, I was excited to gain hands-on experience in a different field and learn more about control systems on the railroad.
Q: What is one little-known fact about you?
Kara: I was highly involved in the Navy JROTC program in high school, where I commanded several competitions and oversaw the student body. (My soft-spoken voice may convince you otherwise!)
Q: How many languages do you speak?
Kara: I speak two languages: English and Vietnamese.
Q: Why did you decide to join the Klingner team?
Kara: During my interview, I really enjoyed conversing with everyone and learning more about Klingner. Their genuine personalities, values as a company, and involvement in the community reflected what I was looking for in a company.
