Welcome: Carson Lay

Meet Carson Lay, the newest member of our Survey team in Quincy, IL!
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself...
Carson: I grew up on a farm in rural Missouri. I am married with three boys and have been in the survey field for almost 20 years.
Q: What do you enjoy most about the projects you work on?
Carson: As a surveyor, the diversity of work we do in the field has always been fun for me. I'm proudest of the projects where I can tell my family about what we did there when we drive by.
Q: Where did you go on vacation last year?
Carson: We vacationed at the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas this past summer. I thought it was interesting the amount of people that came from so far to dig in the extremely hard dirt.
Q: What is something not a lot of people know about you?
Carson: I once tried out for an Olympic team. It was for international trap shooting at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO.
Q: If you could pick up any skill tomorrow, what would it be?
Carson: I would love to be able to just know other languages. Definitely Spanish, since I think more people speak that close to home.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Carson: I like to hobby farm. I farm corn, beans, hogs, cattle, and three BOYS. My wife says they are animals.
