Klingner provided geotechnical boring and pavement coring at the airport as a subconsultant for the Runway 18 / 36 rehabilitation. Some work was required at night because it was the most convenient time to close the entire airport. Services provided included performing field exploratory program and laboratory testing for 37 four-inch diameter pavement cores. Klingner also performed continuous sampling below the pavement, with alternating split spoon (with N-count) and shelby tube samples retrieved from designated locations to a depth of 10 feet. Laboratory testing was performed according to ASTM D422, ASTM D2216, ASTM D4318, ASTM D1557, and ASTM D1883.
