Project Summary
Klingner is providing professional engineering services for the City of Quincy’s Capital Infrastructure Improvement Plan (CIIP). Tasks in this multimillion-dollar project include design for street rehabilitations, water transmission and distribution, new storm sewer to improve drainage, and ADA compliance improvements.
A total of 33 city blocks, including 42 intersections, are included in the CIIP. Street profiles are being adjusted to facilitate positive drainage from adjacent yards. This project also includes new sidewalks and driveways, replacing sanitary sewers where recent video indicates problematic segments, and the redesign of dozens of corners to meet ADA standards. Final Construction Plans and specifications are being provided.
Additionally, Klingner provided Phase III Construction Engineering Services and supported the City’s Resident Engineer with construction inspection staff to verify that construction was completed in accordance with the approved plans. Technicians carried out on-site inspections, QC / QA concrete material and strength testing, field measurements, quantity calculations for plan quantity payments, project administration filing, and daily field reports. Pay Estimates were also created monthly by Klingner’s lead inspector and submitted to the City’s Resident Engineer for review and approval. All site inspection and documentation was performed following the procedures detail in the project’s Special Provisions, IDOT’s Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, IDOT’s Project Procedures Guide, and IDOT’s Documentation of Contract Quantities booklet.
