Project Summary
Klingner was retained to prepare a bid solicitation package requesting design / build proposals from contractors to construct a new 8-lane track, 1,400-seat pre-engineered grandstand, and lighting. The final design layout shifted the location south and east from the previous track to allow space for a proposed grandstand. Throughout construction, Klingner provided observation and project management assistance to the District.
A new concession building with restrooms was also designed to serve the school’s sports complex. This 3,000 SF building features a large concession room with three windows on adjacent sides, allowing easy serving to the surrounding fields. A display window was designed along the busiest wall for booster club merchandise. The building also includes a storage room, restrooms, a family restroom, and an exterior wall left open for a mural. Related site upgrades consist of adding storage under the nearby grandstands, sidewalks, and an entry plaza with a donor brick area and a metal gate with the school’s name and mascot.
