Project Summary
Klingner provided Quincy Park District with design services for two shelter houses in Moorman Park.
The larger of the two shelter houses replaced an existing wooden shelter in Moorman Park. The large 40’ x 60’ pre-engineered steel shelter was oriented to take advantage of park views while providing visible access to the existing playground. A 20’ x 30’ pergola was designed to complement the shelter and provide filtered shade for park users. LED lighting was designed for the shelter and LED rope lighting was designed to accent the pergola. An outdoor fireplace was also designed for the facility in an alternate bid, but this feature was not constructed.
The smaller shelter is a 24’ x 34’ pre-engineered steel shelter that also replaces an existing wood shelter. Design services included site design, architectural, structural foundation, LED lighting, and electrical.
