Burlington RecPlex

Burlington, IA

The field was constructed with a complete sub-drainage system, sand amended topsoil and special turf mix to allow play hours after significant rainfall.  The infield was constructed of “Shakopee Red Ball Diamond Aggregate”.  The warning track was constructed of a locally available mix of graded sand and limestone chips.  The field is fully irrigated with computerized controls.

One combined soccer/softball field was constructed with a complete sub-drainage system allowing the fields to be constructed with minimal cross slope.  Sand amended topsoil, special turf mix, and complete irrigation system maximizes playing time and minimizes maintenance.  The complex’s primary fields are fully lighted with MUSCO Lighting Systems giving tournament standard lighting levels with peripheral light control for regulation of lighting into adjacent residential neighborhoods.

The facility also includes a tot lot, complete perimeter fencing, scoring alcoves, spectator seating, sound system, a community plaza, and a 40’ x 60’ precast maintenance building.  Parking can accommodate up to 250 cars.  Pedestrian traffic is funneled through the ticket booth area.

The RecPlex features tournament class facilities for soccer, softball, sand volleyball and a guest services building including a restaurant and spectator plazas.  League play is planned during the week and various tournaments and special events are offered during the weekend
