Project Summary

Klingner prepared plans, specifications, permitting, and bidding documents for the replacement of Docks E and F, a fuel dock, and a sanitary pump out facility at the Art Keller Marina for Quincy Park District.

This new pre-engineered covered floating dock system can accommodate 202 covered and 48 uncovered slips. The dock layout both serves a variety of boat sizes and facilitates ease of circulation within the marina. Power pedestals with electrical and water service are installed along the docks for easy boater access. To extend the docks’ life, the new treated wood docks use encapsulated flotation.

Included in the design is a fuel dock, overnight guest docking, and a waste pump station. The docks and fuel dock were designed to fluctuate and accommodate access at various river elevations. The project also involved accessible shore connection with gangways; concrete foundations; sidewalk; precast concrete pavement; gabions; miscellaneous site work; and electrical power to the fuel dock with all associated wiring, conduit, grounding, and flexible connections.

Fueling dock design was completed according to the Illinois Fire Marshal regulations. The sanitary pump out facility and associated on-site treatment were designed and permitted in accordance with IEPA regulations and requirements.
