Meet Trevor Rogers, the newest member of our Civil / Site Development Team!
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself…
Trevor: I was raised in a small northwest suburb of Chicago as the youngest of five children. I moved to Southern Illinois in 2015 after transferring to Southern Illinois University – Carbondale from a small community college. I graduated with a bachelor’s of science in civil engineering, specializing in environmental engineering. I worked as a civil engineer for the City of Carbondale prior to joining the Klingner team. I would like to think that I’m a level-headed and driven individual who isn’t afraid of a challenge.
Q: Why did you want to become an Engineer?
Trevor: I have always been intrigued by how roads, bridges, dams, etc were built. In high school, my mother, who works in interior design, got me interested in computer-aided drafting, which led me to being interested in pursuing an engineering degree.
Q: What piece of advice would you give someone choosing the same career?
Trevor: Do not be fearful to make mistakes; learn from them and push on to develop further in the field. Also, one cannot be hesitant to ask questions.
Q: Is there a project you’ve worked on thus far in your career that you’re proudest of?
Trevor: I was the resident engineer who oversaw and documented the construction of an IDOT-funded roundabout in Carbondale, IL. This was my first IDOT documentation project, and I learned a lot!
Q: Why did you decide to join the Klingner team?
Trevor: The Klingner family and team genuinely care about their clients and the communities in which they serve. They proudly display each employee’s accomplishments and publications, as well as hold such a vast history in the services they provide.
Q: If you could meet a famous person from history, who would it be?
Trevor: It would probably be either Franklin D. Roosevelt or John F. Kennedy. Both leaders were very influential in their times and great public speakers.
Q: What was the last movie you saw in a movie theatre? What did you think?
Trevor: The last movie I saw in theatres was “No Time to Die”. I saw the movie with my brother and thought it was great! It was the last film for Daniel Craig as James Bond.
