Meet Tina Van’t Sant, the newest member of our Structural team in Pella, IA!

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself…

Tina: I am married and have two children. We like to camp, usually in state parks. We own a few Massey Harris tractors. We like to take the tractors to tractor shows, parades, and antique tractor pulls. We are members of the Massey Collectors Association in Iowa and nationally.

Q: What inspired you to pursue structural engineering?

Tina: I started out as an Architectural Drafter. I was introduced to historical buildings and loved the idea of re-purposing or upgrading them without losing the history of the building. Structure plays a huge part of keeping the building standing. So, I went back to school to learn Civil Engineering to further advance my ability to understand the inner workings / construction of buildings. I love the challenge of creating something lasting many years and coming up with solutions to problems.

Q: Why did you decide to join the Klingner team?

Tina: Klingner presented a place close to home with all the opportunity to learn structural engineering while working alongside Architects. I also have the variety of working in the field and in the office on different types and sizes of projects.

Q: What is one little known fact about you?

Tina: I like to take walks through nature looking at rocks formations, including caves.

Q: Do you love or hate roller coasters?

Tina: Yes, I love roller coasters for the thrill and excitement.

Q: Are you related to anyone famous?

Tina: I’m related to Betsy Ross, the woman who made the first US flag, on my Grandmother’s side.
