Meet Nathan Wardle, a recent addition to our Architectural Design Team!
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself.
Nathan: I am 23 years old and am a recent graduate from Iowa State. I have a bachelor’s degree in architecture. I was born and raised in Dubuque, IA. I enjoy furniture restoration and history. I am also a bit of a car buff. I love working in social settings and collaboration with peers.
Q: Why did you want to become an Architect?
Nathan: I have always had an affinity toward buildings and design. I loved to build with blocks and toys as a kid, and I absolutely loved to draw. I like to work with my hands. Seeing smaller things turn into big projects is wonderfully rewarding.
Q: What do you enjoy most about the types of projects you work on?
Nathan: I love being able to solve everyday problems by designing better solutions within a structure for people to use. I love making buildings more attractive by creating a better aesthetic for projects and meeting client needs while getting to do creative problem-solving.
Q: What piece of advice would you give someone choosing the same career?
Nathan: Draw often and anything. Being able to quickly share your ideas through drawings in an effective manner is crucial.
Q: Is there a project you’ve worked on thus far in your career that you’re proudest of?
Nathan: I worked on a small apartment building in which I designed the floor-plans and layout for each floor. I enjoy driving by the building and seeing how far it’s come along in construction.
Q: What form of transportation do you prefer (air, boat, train, bus, car, etc)?
Nathan: I enjoy train rides and find them to be a very effective way of transportation. I loved taking the Amtrak through Kansas to New Mexico.
