Meet Morgan Rich, the newest member of our Transportation Team!
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself…
Morgan: I was born and raised in Carbondale, IL. I recently graduated from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale in December 2021. My hometown is very special to me, and my family all still lives there. While growing up, I enjoyed outdoor activities. Now that I have finished college, I am ready to start my career. My hobbies include fishing, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors. When I was offered this position with Klingner, I was excited for the opportunity to come to Quincy and experience a new area of Illinois. I am looking forward to spending the next year in Quincy, being mentored by the Transportation Department and seeing what the area has to offer.
Q: Why did you want to become an Engineer?
Morgan: When it came time for me to decide what career path to take, I was a little unsure. However, after careful consideration, I recognized how much I enjoy working in mathematics and science. Engineering felt like it would be a career that was best suited for me.
Q: What do you enjoy most about the types of projects you work on?
Morgan: I love how this industry has a lot of variety in projects and that a typical day is not always sitting at a desk.
Q: Why did you decide to join the Klingner Team?
Morgan: Each person I spoke with while interviewing only had positive things to say about the company. Klingner has the feeling of a family-type business with a hometown atmosphere. I am confident while working for Klingner that I will not be viewed as just another employee, but rather as a valued member of the team.
Q: If you could visit any place in the world, what would it be?
Morgan: If I could visit any place in the world, it would be New Zealand. It looks like a beautiful place and I loved the Lord of the Rings movies, so visiting those “hobbit houses” would be such a neat thing to see in person.
Q: What is your favorite hobby?
Morgan: I’m not sure if this is considered a hobby, but I absolutely love watching baseball. I love to research all of the players, statistics, and everything about the game itself.
Q: What is your favorite family recipe?
Morgan: I absolutely love my mom’s fried chicken. Every time she makes it, it is delicious.
