Q: Tell us a bit about yourself…

Kayla: I am a Quincy native, born and raised, and then moved away for a brief period of time. I moved back so my children could be closer to family. I also have two dogs. I love all things outdoors, cooking, and anything creative.


Q: Why did you want to become an Architect?

Kayla: I wanted to become an architect because I wanted to make the most of every space that we can occupy. We are fortunate to have the ability to improve the lives of our clients through many facets. It’s rewarding when everything comes together in a project and clients’ expectations are completely exceeded.


Q: What do you enjoy the most about the types of projects you work on?

Kayla: I enjoy a variety of projects, and I have been fortunate in the variety of work I have been included on. Residential and health care are my preferred project types due to the challenge that they typically present.


Q: What piece of advice would you give someone choosing the same career?

Kayla: I would recommend that they make connections with as many people as they can and always keep an open mind. We are always presented with an opportunity to learn something new, and it will make you a better team member.


Q: Why did you decide to join the Klingner team?

Kayla: I decided to join the Klingner team because I admire their value and professionalism in the services they provide. The company has been extremely welcoming, and the team structure and support is refreshing. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this team and lend my skills to a great firm.


Q: What was your favorite subject in school?

Kayla: My favorite subject in school was biology; the uniqueness of every person and how they respond to their environment is extremely interesting.
