Meet Julie Nichols, the newest member of our Architectural Team!

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself…

Julie: I am a recent graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelors of Architecture. My husband, Eric, and I enjoy playing instruments, hiking, and bowling. I am originally from the Des Moines, Iowa area.

Q: Why did you want to become an architect?

Julie: My interest in architecture started in high school, thanks to a drafting teacher. From there, I pursued it further in college and became interested in how we shape and build our world, and the beauty and practicality of that.

Q: Why did you decide to join the Klingner team?

Julie: I joined Klingner because the staff here are wonderful and inviting! I also appreciate the types of projects that they work on.

Q: What’s your favorite family tradition?

Julie: My favorite family tradition would have to be camping. My family does multiple camping trips each year, but I especially love the trips coordinated with our extended families – they make it a blast!

Q: If you could visit any place in the world, what would it be?

Julie: I would love to visit United Kingdom and explore the many beautiful sites and the incredible architecture.

Q: What is your favorite hobby?

Julie: My favorite hobby is reading; it’s like a vacation for the mind.

Q: What piece of advice would you give to someone choosing the same career?

Julie: As a recent grad, my advice would be to keep challenging yourself – class can get tough, but you can get through it!!
