Meet Josiah Moore, the newest member of our MEP Team!

Q: Tell us a bit about yourself…

Josiah: I’m from the Camp Point, IL, area, but I live in Colorado now and work remotely full-time for Klingner! I really like the outdoors and going camping, hiking, skiing, and off-roading. I’ve been married to my beautiful wife, Kirsten, since May 2020. In our free time, we love to go on adventures together and also serve and get to know others. We really enjoy seeing smiles on people’s faces and seeing them benefit from something we were able to do for them.

Q: Why did you want to become an engineer?

Josiah: I always loved (and still do) solving problems and learning how things work. I built lots of things with LEGOs and was always taking apart or modifying my NERF guns, or even remote-control cars. So, becoming a mechanical engineer just made sense to me.

Q: What do you enjoy most about the types of projects you work on?

Josiah: I enjoy new and unique challenges as projects unfold as well as the learning opportunities that arise. I also enjoy figuring out how to do something more efficiently / effectively than the previous time.

Q: If you could pick up a skill instantly, what would it be?

Josiah: I would love to speak any language so that I could communicate with just about anyone.

Q: What was your first job?

Josiah: My first job was de-tasseling corn in the Mississippi River bottoms. It was a great, short-term job for a high school kid.

Q: What piece of advice would you give someone choosing the same career?

Josiah: Listen! Truly listen to gain understanding, and never think that you already know the answer or everything there is to know about engineering. Overlook offenses and don’t harbor grudges – they will only make a situation that much worse. Always be looking for something you can do to help your employer, boss, coworkers, and clients.
