Meet Eric Walechka, a recent addition to our Burlington CMT Team!
Q: Tell us a bit about yourself.
Eric: My name is Eric, and I’m 35 years old. I was born and raised in Le Center, MN. I grew up in Scouts and earned my Eagle Scout in 2006. In 2010, I earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Upper Iowa University. My wife, Ciara, and I have lived in Burlington since 2011. We have two children. From 2012 – 2018, I coached football, wrestling, and Track & Field at West Burlington High School. When I’m not at work, I really enjoy weight-lifting and camping / hiking in the woods.
Q: Why did you want to become a Technician?
Eric: I’ve been interested in and have been part of the construction world for many years, through high school and helping family members that owned construction companies back in Minnesota.
Q: What do you enjoy most about the types of projects you work on?
Eric: I love learning about all types of structures that are being built. I am fascinated by the strength and make-up of soils, and the importance of what a building requires to be built upon.
Q: What sports teams do you root for?
Eric: I love the Minnesota Vikings!
Q: What was your favorite subject in school?
Eric: My favorite classes were always related to science.
Q: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
Eric: I am an introvert.
