Historic Town Square Reconstruction

To revitalize this charming town square around the Menard County Courthouse in Petersburg, IL:

  • Transportation engineers designed reclaimed brick driving lanes, new asphalt parking, concrete ADA sidewalks, and historic lighting.
Our team engaged the public to solicit community input.
Construction observation, complete with daily and weekly reports, was provided.

All work was completed with IDOT, IHPA, and FHWA to enhance the historical qualities of the area while maintaining modern standards for accessibility.

Grant Support

Klingner maintains ongoing relationships with multiple funding agencies, allowing us to better navigate the process with the municipalities we serve. The engineers at Klingner know that a thorough preliminary engineering report is your best tool to secure the most state and federal funding possible. In addition to assessing your current system, prioritizing upgrades, and presenting alternatives and cost estimates, each report outlines potential funding sources and a community’s eligibility.

Frequent funding sources utilized by Klingner include Illinois Motor Fuel Tax (MFT), Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP), Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Departments of Natural Resources (DNR), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development (USDA-RD), among others.
