Building on Accuracy

We’re looking for a dedicated individual that enjoys a “hands-on” career in the construction industry. This job is ideal for a candidate that enjoys a fast-paced work environment at construction sites throughout Missouri, Southeast Iowa and West Central Illinois. Our candidate should value and recognize the importance of detailed construction documentation and testing accuracy, and the importance they play during construction phases of every project. Work days will be split between working outside in the field, and performing laboratory tests in the office. This position is for technical staff focusing on construction observation, materials testing, and equipment maintenance. It does not require a college degree.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary Field Duties: Perform construction observation in the field for designated projects as assigned. Conduct testing of construction materials (i.e., concrete, soil, aggregate) at construction sites and in the laboratory.
  • Equipment: Responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, upkeep, calibrations, and safe working condition of equipment.
  • Data & Reporting: Demonstrate excellent documentation skills while testing. Utilize basic math and critical thinking skills to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Generally, work standard hours, but maintain flexibility for task-oriented requirements, including seasonal overtime and weekends during busy construction seasons.

Please Note: Although this position has standard working hours when possible, this position is more task oriented relative to time oriented and requires flexibility as to beginning and ending times on many days throughout the year. This position is full-time. Seasonal overtime pay is likely and should be anticipated during the busy construction seasons throughout the year.
