FOUNDED IN 1905

Klingner has a history of growth and commitment to community.

The historical events of the 1900s

1905: W.P. Bushnell Engineering Firm was established by Webster P. Bushnell.

1920: Bushnell & McCann Engineering Firm was established.

1936: William H. Klingner joined Bushnell & McCann, to provide water resource engineering services.

1949: Bushnell & McCann became W. H. Klingner and Associates, and later incorporated in 1985, as Klingner & Associates, P.C. In order to assist clientele in the Northeast Missouri region, the Firm established a branch office in Hannibal, Missouri.

The historical events of the 2000s

2004: Klingner & Associates, P.C. announced its merger and expansion into Iowa and northwest Illinois through a merger with Metzger Johnson Architects, Smith Engineering and Geotechnics, Inc; which have offices in Galesburg, Illinois and Burlington, Iowa.

2005: Hannibal Testing Laboratories, Inc. of Hannibal, Missouri became Geotechnics, a division of Klingner & Associates, P.C.

2014: Metzger Johnson Architects and Klingner Architects joined forces to be known as the Klingner Architectural Group.

2015: Klingner & Associates, P.C. announced the purchase of Galesburg-area Land Surveying / Civil Engineering Firm of Schrader & Associates. In December, Klingner & Associates, P.C. announced the opening of its fifth regional office and expansion in Pella, Iowa.

2016: Klingner & Associates, P.C. announced the official opening of its sixth regional office and expansion in Columbia, Missouri.

2020: Klingner & Associates, P.C. announced the acquisition of Verbeke-Meyer Consulting Engineers in Davenport, Iowa.

2022: Klingner & Associates, P.C. announced the opening of its eighth regional office in Carbondale, Illinois.
