FEMA’s NFIP Section 65.10 Levee Certification / Accreditation

In order to remain in the National Flood Insurance Program FEMA requires that levee systems be accredited. Klingner's Water Resources Department has the ability to certify levee systems and has performed the necessary studies and analysis (Freeboard, Closures, Embankment Protection, Embankment and Foundations Stability, Settlement, Interior Drainage, etc.) for several systems to submit their application to become a Provisionally Accredited Levee (PAL). The PAL application package submitted for our Fabius River Drainage District was accepted by FEMA and in 2008 their levee system was reaccredited with their 100-year certification. See our Featured Projects Section of the website for a full description of the Fabius River Drainage District PAL. Map illustrates the areas inundated by water of 1ft or more and those areas inundated by less than 1ft of depth.)
