ALTA/ACSM (American Land Title Association/American Congress on surveying and Mapping) Land Title Survey:

Land Title Surveys in the State of Illinois shall be performed in accordance with the latest Minimum Standard Detail Requirements and Classifications for ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys as adopted by American Land Title Association and American Congress on Surveying and Mapping. This is the most comprehensive type of survey and improvement location. It covers all the aspects of the boundary survey and improvement location and identification for additional evidence of possession or use which could be adverse to the interest of the purchaser as indicated by the research of the Title Insurance Company and or as visible. This type of survey is normally only performed on commercial property because of the expense.
