Klingner
& Associates, P.C. owns and operates a trailer mounted Geoprobe® Model 5400
direct push system that is fully stocked and ready for service within minutes.
It is equipped with Macro-Core®, Screen Point15®, and concrete coring tooling.
The trailer is also equipped with 100 gallons of water that can be delivered
under pressure for decontamination purposes or for bentonite seal hydration.
This trailer mounted system provides the flexibility and
maneuverability not always available to conventional drill rigs. With the
combined options of direct push, bi-directional rotary, and percussion probe
advancement, a variety of types of sample collection and environmental
investigation can be performed.
 The
Geoprobe® can be used to obtain continuous soil cores or discrete soil samples.
It can also be used to collect groundwater or vapor samples. Furthermore, the
probe can be used to insert permanent sampling implants and air sparging points
in addition to small diameter pre-packed monitoring wells. In fact, the Geoprobe®
machine has been used to perform many of these functions to depths of 100 feet
or more where the geology and soil conditions are appropriate.
Other
uses include:
-
Pavement
coring to a depth of 12”
-
Fully
cased probe advancement
-
Injection
of remediation materials
-
Geotechnical
evaluation via cone penetrometer
-
Electrical
conductivity and membrane interface probes
-
Slug
and permeameter in-situ hydraulic conductivity testing
-
Groundwater
profiling
Advantages:
-
No cuttings produced during probing
-
Probing is fast @ 5 – 25 feet/minute
-
Mobilization is quick and economical
