Klingner & Associates, P.C. provided master planning services, preliminary engineering, final design, specifications and cost estimates for campus improvements, concept drawings and environmental compliance for both the church and school of the Church of St. Peter in Quincy.  The Master Planning considered three options which included correcting deferred maintenance, campus expansions to the church and school, and an entire new campus.  The priorities were to correct handicapped accessibility deficiencies, improve site circulation and improve school security.

The school students were housed in five separate buildings.  The classrooms, pre-school, music, computer lab, and school library were housed in the church basement.  The previous convent was relocated to a 2-story addition to the school and the kindergarten addition to the gym building.  The connecting walkway between the school and gym was enclosed and provided with electronic door monitoring and security hardware.  Elevators were added to both the church and school.  Existing second floor classrooms were reconfigured to provide two classrooms per grade level.  The existing building renovations required an asbestos abatement project as well.  The future plans are to add a cafeteria/multi-purpose building between the existing school and junior high building, which will then allow all the campus’ school buildings to be connected and secure.
